Are becoming ever more apparent to me. I don't find it too much of a personal struggle, however it seems like God is asking me to let go many of my existing values and make some pretty difficult choices, rather than comfortable choices. Like K Ling 'challenged'/reminded me to take my faith to work--making decisions based on WWJD. I never thought of that before. But I am becoming bolder in telling strangers that I want to impress that I am Christian. I do not mind at all if they judge me based on that. But I just wonder how far we have to take what God wants us to do in our lives. Is it going to make Him proud when we focus the majority of the time saving lost souls instead of other causes, like caring for the environment? That's what an article in this month's Set Apart Girl (May, June 2012 issue) http://www.setapartgirl.com/home.html is proposing. Do I have to justify all my actions and choices by referring to the Bible? I'm not trying to say that's not a good thing, I guess I havent made up my mind yet. If God wants us to "break the shackles of slavery", does that mean he wants me to do more IJM-ish work instead of what I'm doing now? Not necessarily right? I guess I agree with the conclusion: the causes we are fighting for in this world our not our primary focus, but God is. Another article: become a nurturer. Physical, emotional needs, Speak the Truth in love!! Then a testimony of a setapart girl and her fiance: lesson learnt--pursue more of Christ before you throw yourself into a relationship!! Guard a heart until a true man of God comes along. "let the man initiate and lead"...hmmm,. "God does not require your help, but He does require your obedience" Amen. But yes trust God fully in this aspect of my life. This issue is not fully enlightening, but comes as a timely reminder. :) Thanks Leslie Ludy :) Our personal identities, traits vs being led by the Spirit of God. We should love others as He loved us. And He loved us by laying His life for us. Be His vessel at all times! :D Pray every morning: God, let me work with Your help and strength and wisdom from you to help those in need today. :) "Don't be satisfied with Jesus being a part of your life--make Him your life". Let Him run my life amidst this hectic and busy time :'). Prov 3:5-6!!! |
